1. Download Ledger Live — Only from the Real Site

Go directly to: https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live Never search on Google or click email links. Choose your platform:

• Windows 10/11 (64-bit)

• macOS 13 Ventura or newer

• Linux (.AppImage or .deb)

• iOS 16+ / Android 10+ (mobile app)

Download → verify the SHA-256 hash listed on the page if you want maximum certainty.

2. Install in Under 60 Seconds

Windows: double-click .exe → Install macOS: open .dmg → drag Ledger Live to Applications folder Linux: run the .AppImage or sudo dpkg -i ledger-live*.deb The app opens automatically.

3. Connect Your Ledger Device

Supported 2025 models: Nano S Plus, Nano X, Stax, Flex, Ledger Card.

• Plug in with the original cable (USB-C)

• OR wake via Bluetooth (Nano X, Stax, Flex)

• Enter your 8-digit PIN on the hardware device (never on the computer)

• Tap both buttons / touch the screen to “Allow Ledger Live”

A green “Genuine check passed” banner confirms your firmware is authentic.

4. First-Time Choices

A. Set Up as New Device (recommended for new users)

1. Select “Set up a new Ledger”

2. Choose your device model

3. Ledger Live walks you through:

   • Generate 24-word recovery phrase (write it down on the official card only)

   • Confirm random words directly on the device screen

   • Set a new 8-digit PIN

   • Optional: add a passphrase (25th word) for hidden wallets

B. Restore Existing Wallet

1. Choose “Restore from recovery phrase”

2. Type your 24 words (lowercase, exact spelling) into Ledger Live

3. Set new PIN → done (You can also restore directly on the device itself for maximum paranoia.)

5. Install Coin Apps (Manager Tab)

1. Click “Manager” in the left sidebar

2. Allow Manager access on your Ledger screen

3. Search and install the apps you need: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Cardano, etc. Nano X/Stax/Flex: up to 100+ apps Nano S Plus: ~18–20 apps

6. Add Accounts

1. Go to “Accounts” → “Add account”

2. Select the coin (e.g., Bitcoin)

3. Ledger Live scans the blockchain and imports your addresses automatically

4. Rename the account (“Main BTC”, “Savings ETH”, etc.)

7. Daily Login Routine (10 seconds)

Every time you open Ledger Live:

1. Connect/wake your Ledger

2. Enter PIN on the physical device

3. Ledger Live unlocks instantly — no separate app password required Optional: Settings → Security → Password lock (adds a computer-side password).

8. Mobile Sync (Nano X, Stax, Flex)

1. Open Ledger Live mobile app

2. Tap “Sync with Bluetooth”

3. Confirm the 8-digit pairing code on both screens

4. All accounts and balances appear instantly on your phone

9. Essential Security Reminders (2025)

• Never enter your 24 words anywhere except the physical Ledger

• Always check the receiving address on the device screen before confirming sends

• Update firmware only inside official Ledger Live

• Enable “Data privacy mode” in Settings to disable analytics

• Store your recovery phrase offline in metal (Ledger sells Billfodl or Cryptosteel)
